Parent Info

1. On the weekend of Jan 19 - 21, 2018, all band and colour party members are welcome to attend our Band and Colour Party weekend at Gull Lake, put on by Alberta Division. The cost for the event is $100, but Edmonton branch will cover half. Therefore, the cost to parents will be $50 for their child to attend, which will be due no later than Jan 12, 2018. This is a good opportunity for our cadets to learn about their roles within the corps, and we encourage all band and colour party members to attend.

2. CB Hill lost the building on Friday, January 26, and as such, there will be no cadets on that night.

3. On Saturday, Feb 03, 2018, we will be having a bottle drive, to be held at HMCS Nonsuch, followed by fun and games at Combat Archery. We had originally planned on doing a swim night, but was unable to book a pool within the city. The Combat Archery will still only be open to those cadets who are present at the bottle drive. See Upcoming Events for timings.

Navy League General Info

The Navy League program is open to children ages 9 - 12 years of age. The program is run mainly by volunteers, all of which are carefully screened by The Navy League of Canada, including personal background checks.

The Navy League of Canada is a charitable organization with a governing body, that is represented by a Branch.

Navy League cadets participate in a variety of activities and learn many new skills, which include Sailing and Canoeing, Seamanship and Ropework, Marching and Precision Drill Teams, Naval Terminology, Air Rifle Safety & Marksmanship, and Map & Compass. There are also several other activities and community events, such as Military Commemorative Parades, Weekend Camps, Formal Mess Dinners, Seasonal Parties, and much much more.

These programs instills community spirit into young people, and gives them a sense of duty. It teaches them values, such as self-discipline, self-confidence, and respect for others, that they can still apply long after they've left the cadet world.
