The Navy League program is open to children ages 9 - 12 years of age. The program is run mainly by volunteers, all of which are carefully screened by The Navy League of Canada, including personal background checks.
The Navy League of Canada is a charitable organization with a governing body, that is represented by a Branch.
Navy League cadets participate in a variety of activities and learn many new skills, which include Sailing and Canoeing, Seamanship and Ropework, Marching and Precision Drill Teams, Naval Terminology, Air Rifle Safety & Marksmanship, and Map & Compass. There are also several other activities and community events, such as Military Commemorative Parades, Weekend Camps, Formal Mess Dinners, Seasonal Parties, and much much more.
These programs instills community spirit into young people, and gives them a sense of duty. It teaches them values, such as self-discipline, self-confidence, and respect for others, that they can still apply long after they've left the cadet world.
